News and notes from the weekend:

• Panthers coach Frank Reich said QB Bryce Young will play in the first preseason game.

• Broncos coach Sean Payton said QB Russell Wilson and the other starters will play in Friday’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.

• The Chiefs and Broncos are potential suitors if the Raiders rescind the franchise tender of RB Josh Jacobs.

• The Vikings add wide receiver depth and sign veteran WR N’Keal Harry.

• Panthers RB Miles Sanders suffered an undisclosed injury and was unable to finish Saturday’s practice.

• Jets WR Garrett Wilson is dealing with an ankle injury and should return to practice Tuesday, according to coach Robert Saleh.

• Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson did not practice Sunday for undisclosed reasons as rumors circulate of a potential hold-in for a new contract.

• Dolphins RB De’Von Achane is day-to-day following a leg injury in Saturday’s practice.

• Panthers WR Damiere Byrd missed Sunday’s practice with a hamstring injury.

• Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that WR Rashod Bateman has a “chance to be out there soon.”

• Saints RB Eno Benjamin ruptured his Achilles tendon during Saturday’s practice and is out for the season.

• Saints WRs Rashid Shaheed and WR Tre’Quan Smith were unable to finish Saturday’s practice due to groin injuries

• The Packers released QB Danny Etling who was in the middle of a competition with Sean Clifford and Alex Mcgough to be Jordan Love’s backup.

• The Saints signed former XFL WR Jontre Kirklin.

• Bengals RB Joe Mixon being sued for alleged role in March 2023 shooting at his home.

Friday updates:

• The Colts signed RB Kenyan Drake.

• Veteran TE Marcedes Lewis is finalizing a deal with the Bears.
